LIKE A VENDING MACHINE
2008 / BOOK DESIGN / 7x9 / MENTOR: TRACY SHIFFMAN
"Cold, lifeless, and impersonal. Cheap nutrition ready to go at the push of a button. It takes only a few seconds to receive the snack of your desire and only slightly longer to eat it. Immediately after inserting money, the machine asks for your choice of snack: salty, sweet, nicotine, sour, water, or caffeine? The arms crank down, loud and harsh, your choice is spit out at you, dropped down for you to pick up. The taste is good for a few minutes, but you slowly begin to feel regret, wishing you had waited for a real meal." (Quote from book)
